Physical NICs on Oracle KVM for redundancy

RaffJan 19 2023

Hello Forum!
My first post.... All right,
I'm moving part of my virt infrastructure from vSphere to OLVM. Although I'm quite experienced on vSphere, I'm a complete newbie on OLVM.
I managed to install a self-hosted KVM. First problem I encountered was when I wanted to add the second NIC of the KVM host in order to act as a A/A o A/P like "teaming" works on vCenter.
Accessing the KVM cockpit I found 4 options: Add a - Team, VLAN, Bridge and Bond.
The NICs are in the same VLAN, so I created ens1f0.20 (VLAN is 20) and ens1f1.20. Of course, different IPs since no aggregation was prepared. And no LACP/LAG on switch ports.
Now, my question is: which is the best way to aggregate these 2 ports so that I can see and add VLANs on them as if they were just one, keeping me away from faults?
I hope I was clear enough.. please be patient :-)
Thank you
Raff
