Directory objects issue

S. DamianApr 14 2016 — edited Apr 19 2016

Hi everybody,

The smart way to allow database users to use the server file system are the directory objects, we already left behind the tedious database parameter UTL_FILE, the change was awesome between them, but, I have not found anything about how to limit the space used by a database user. Can you imagine the damage that a growing directory object can do in your root file system, in your database file system, in your clusterware file system, in your windows volumes...

The only way which I have found is out of database, that is to say, create the directory object pointing to a file system used only for this purpose.

Sometimes, a specific file system for directory objects is not available for all database hosts, does anyone know how to limit the space used by a database user through the directory object? A quota would be nice.

Regards.
