I created an Always Free Oracle Cloud account about a year ago. I did some testing the first month: created and deleted a Compute instance, ran a few things on it, etc. I've been receiving emails over the past year about when Oracle Cloud downtimes would potentially affect my "service," so I assume my account is still active. However, when I tried to go back in and create a new Compute instance, the dashboard kept giving me errors.
Trying to select an image and shape yielded the "The initial request to list available images failed. Either no resources exist, or you don't have permission to view them in the current compartment, <mydomain> (root). Try changing the compartment that you select images from" error.
Trying to select a shape yielded "The required information to complete authentication was not provided or was incorrect."
I thought that, perhaps, I could not create an image under the default/root compartment, but when I tried to create a new compartment, I got "The required information to complete authentication was not provided or was incorrect."
Anyone have any advice on how to alleviate these errors? Would it be easier for me to just delete the account and create a new one at this point?
Thanks,
Fa
